Owami RV Mbele, born and raised in Sebokeng, Gauteng, South Africa, developed a strong passion for art, leading to a Fine Arts degree from the University of Johannesburg. During his studies, Owami actively exhibited his work, including at notable events like Sasol New Signatures and MTN Arts Collective. After a year as a Printmaking Facilitator at the university in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic shifted Owami's focus towards climate activism. He is the founder of Imvelo globe. Currently residing in Soweto, Owami partner with a primary school, where he is developing an innovative initiative to empower the school community to become climate-resilient, aiming to cultivate future climate leaders. Owami's journey showcases his adaptability, creativity, and dedication to making a positive impact through art, education, and environmental action.
Keith Pillay is a Pretoria-based technology leader who previously served as a Web Developer at Pepkor Speciality, where he managed and developed applications for their online stores, focusing on user experience and performance optimization. Building on his technical foundation and experience in roles such as Co-founder at BindStack (where he demonstrated project management and business strategy), as well as Software Developer positions at JustSolve, Reevell Enterprise Development, and Arycor, Keith is now the CEO of Truetech, a company that supports Imvelo. His career trajectory showcases a strong blend of technical expertise across various programming languages and e-commerce platforms, coupled with leadership acumen and a strategic business perspective, now directed towards supporting Imvelo through his role at Truetech.
